Black Korina is a gorgeous West African wood with great musical tone that is similar to Mahogany. Also known as Limba, it was introduced to the guitar industry by Gibson® who called it Korina. Black Korina has naturally occurring black and brown striping which looks even more amazing when it has orance streaking. Paul Crook is a huge fan of Black Korina: “To me, [Black Korina] is the most musical wood that I’ve come across. I’ve noticed that I don’t need to combine, say, Maple or any other wood for that matter to get a ‘full’ sound. In my opinion, it is the most [tonally] balanced species, period.”

“Eric Bloom opened up the set by singing “THE RED AND THE BLACK” much to the delight of this packed room.  BOC started acapella style on “THE GOLDEN AGE OF LEATHER” before Dharma’s nimble fingers and vocals made this song soar. One of the band’s biggest hits, “BURNIN’ FOR YOU” got the real fans to their feet and singing along. HEAVEN FORBID’s “HARVEST MOON” went over very well with these loyal fans… The guys continued to rock The Railhead and their fans, as they went into the instrumental “BUCK’S BOOGIE”. Bloom, Castellano, and Dharma all took a turn to show off their skills.  Ex-Anthrax and current Meatloaf guitarist, Paul Crook got up to jam on “LAST DAYS OF MAY”.  Richie led the way with a nice solo before letting Paul take a turn. I think Crook surprised a lot of the fans with his fretwork, but not me.  I am a big fan of his guitar work and the man himself.”
