eddie trunk studioPaul Crook’s ears were burning when radio personality Eddie Trunk interviewed Queen’s Brian May for a recent podcast.

Eddie managed to interview Brian May PhD between sound checks before Brian took the stage with Queen at New Jersey’s Izod Center on August 7th. ¬†Eddie talked to Brian about Queen’s influence on metal, guitarists’ niggling finger problems, stereo photography, what its like to tour again and why the band chose Adam Lambert to pay tribute to Freddie Mercury’s legacy.

Brian went on to discuss his favorite guitarists, including some neat comments about Paul Crook. Paul mentioned the podcast on Facebook and said, “I feel incredibly humbled with the kind words from both gentlemen”.

Eddie Trunk is an American music historian, radio personality, talk show host, and author, best known as the host of several hard rock and heavy metal-themed radio and television shows.

In this podcast, Eddie explains how this show differs a little from his conventional interviews because of the tight time slot he had with Brian before the concert. If you have not listened to Eddie’s podcasts before, it is worth taking the time to get his take on the music business. The interview itself starts at 45:10 and you can hear about Paul at 55:30 and 58:45 on the timeline.
